I coined the acronym NBUS in 2013 and ran several challenges until 2017. The term caught on and is still being used in Blogland, so I thought this would be a good time to resurrect my NBUS challenge. I set up this dedicated NBUS website for crafty artists to share their works of art containing any brand-new virginal Never-Before-Used-Schtuff! We bought it ~ now let's use it to share and inspire others!

Hello! Most of my family and friends call me TK and that has been the case for around 83% of my life. (You didn't actually think I'd announce my age, did you?!) In one sense or another, I've been crafting for even longer as I morphed through sewing, macrame, a lot of cross-stitching, drawing, painting, scrapbooking ~ and now I think I've found my home with card-making.

I'm a mom to three beautiful daughters, MIL to one amazing SIL, and I have an equally amazing grandson. I love nature, animals, and all things that God created for us to be amazed by.

Here's TK's spectacular NBUS card to inspire you:
Thank you for being our Guest Designer this month, TK!

Guest Designer!

To thank you for sharing your NBUS all these years (and/or to schpark your fire if you're in a bit of slump), I am randomly inviting participants to join me as guest designers! This month I'm delighted to welcome Bonnie Lynn Schroeder Ratzloff:

First, and foremost, I am so thrilled to have been asked to Guest Design for Darnell! I have admired Darnell's creativity and humor so much over the years. It never crossed my mind that I would end up as a Guest Designer for her; especially since I deal with chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, and lung issues (asthma/COPD/long haul COVID) which have kept me off the Internet more than I would have liked over the years.

I've been stamping since 1993 when a friend asked me to come to a
stamping party she was hostessing. I fell in love with the stamps and the idea of making my own Christmas cards, thinking it would be a cheaper, more personal, alternative to buying them in the stores. Ha! Who was I kidding, right? Through the years since, stamping and coloring have continued to be my relaxation, sanity, and escape as I deal with my health issues and those of my husband ~ who happens to be a bigger enabler than any advertising campaign!

I hope you find as much inspiration from my creations as I have found from
everyone else's over the years.

Here's Bonnie's heartwarming card to inspire you:
Thank you for being our Guest Designer this month, Bonnie!

Guest Designer!

To thank you for sharing your NBUS all these years (and/or to schpark your fire if you're in a bit of slump), I am randomly inviting participants to join me as guest designers! This month I'm delighted to welcome Susan Morris:

I’ve done some sort of crafting for as long as I can remember. Painting and drawing as a child, followed by knitting, crochet, and embroidery; predominately knitting and a few years doing machine-knitting.

Cardmaking was only discovered when I retired (I had to fill all that spare time somehow!) and then it became a major interest, resulting in a few Design Team posts. During lockdown, I tried my hand at watercolours, something I had always wanted to do. I had always been told I was useless at it, but to my surprise, I discovered that I wasn’t as useless as I had thought! I followed up by doing some courses on Zoom and some pastel workshops, as well. The problem I have now is finding enough hours in the day to do all that I want to do!

Guest Designer!

To thank you for sharing your NBUS all these years (and/or to schpark your fire if you're in a bit of slump), I am randomly inviting participants to join me as guest designers! This month I'm delighted to welcome Brenda Wilkinson.

I was so happy when Darnell asked me to be the Guest Designer for the month of September! Fall is my favorite time of the year, so I'm ready to be making fall cards. I started in the late 90s with scrapbooking for the grands. Then I found card-making and that's what I fell in love with. Then I found blogging. The combination of those two things has enriched my life by finding a wonderful hobby and "meeting" so many fantastic people that I never would have had the opportunity to meet in person.

Here is Brenda's beautiful fall card to inspire you:

Guest Designer!

To thank you for sharing your NBUS all these years (and/or to schpark your fire if you're in a bit of slump), I am randomly inviting participants to join me as guest designers! This month I'm delighted to welcome Liz Cavill of Crafty Sunflower.

I was delighted to be invited by Darnell to be the Guest Designer for the August NBUS Challenge. I have enjoyed a variety of crafts over the years and have been cardmaking for about 20 years. I especially love trying new techniques and fancy folds. I set up my blog in 2012 to keep a record of the cards I make, not realising that there was an online crafty community out there. I have made so many new blogging friends, some of which I’ve been lucky enough to meet in person. I even had the chance to visit Darnell’s Playhouse in her garden! I am constantly inspired by other bloggers and their wonderful creations. Like most cardmakers, I have plenty of NBUS stash, but the die I’ve used on my card is one I bought very recently and was determined to actually use it before I packed it away! I’m looking forward to seeing all your wonderful NBUS cards again this month.

Here are two views of Liz's beautiful card to inspire you:

Guest Designer!

To thank you for sharing your NBUS all these years (and/or to schpark your fire if you're in a bit of slump), I am randomly inviting participants to join me as guest designers! This month I'm delighted to welcome Bonnie Klass of Stamping With Klass!

Wow, I’m so excited to be a Guest Designer at Darnell’s NBUS Challenge. I have a huge NBUS stash that
I’m trying to work through. It seems to grow faster than I can craft! Fortunately, I love making cards and I’m happiest when I’m in the craft room! My card-making journey started in 2008 and since I retired, it’s been a big part of my life. I have met so many wonderful people through this hobby, both in person and through my blog. I treasure these relationships and the inspiration. As an added bonus, I have plenty of cards to send out. When I’m not in the studio, I’m either with my family or I have my nose stuck in a book. So many fun things to do, so little time!

Guest Designer!

To thank you for sharing your NBUS all these years (and/or to schpark your fire if you're in a bit of slump), I am randomly inviting participants to join me as guest designers. This month I'm delighted to welcome Pat of Colourful Card Creations!

Hi everybody.  I was so thrilled when Darnell asked me to be the Guest Designer this time! Most months I dive into the NBUS box (or if I'm honest, boxes, lol) of brand-new or older-new items waiting for their debut performance and I join in the fun here. Thank you Darnell for giving us the opportunity to use our NBUS!

I have always crafted in one way or another with knitting and needlecrafts and some oil and watercolour painting, but it was when I decided to turn some cross-stitch into cards that I became hooked, and now cardmaking is my main hobby. Like many others, I started with paper-crafting (including decoupage), but then I decided to try stamping and I was hooked!  Shortly afterwards I started my blog (Colourful Card Creations) and I enjoy being part of this wonderful crafting community.  I love trying new techniques and enjoy all types of cardmaking. On the whole over the years, my style has become less fussy and I mainly use my stamps with inks, stencils, dies, and embossing folders, with much less of the papercrafting I started out doing.

Here is Pat's beautiful card to inspire you:

Hello crafty friends! I'm delighted to be Darnell's Guest Designer this month! I've played at NBUS for a long time and hope she'll continue the challenge forever. I have a mountain of NBUS and it just seems to get bigger!

I'm a long-time crafter and I have made cards since 2007. I'm a former Hero Arts Hostess & Merry Monday (a retired Christmas Card Challenge) designer and I am currently on the Design Team for
Die Cut Divas. You can find my cards in Blogland at Scrappin', Stampin', & Singin'.
